Vermont Composites Purchases New CNC Equipment

April 2, 2009 – Vermont Composites, Inc. recently purchased and installed a new Five-Axis CNC Router.  This DMS 5’ x 10’ x 48” machine has a twelve position tool changer and is capable of complex part and mold master machining.

“This new equipment will greatly enhance the speed and accuracy of our multi-axis machining operations”, said company General Manager, Jim Sharkey. 

Vermont Composites designs and fabricates advanced composite structures for the aerospace, medical and industrial markets.  The company is registered to ISO9001:2000 and AS9100 and is Nadcap accredited for composites processing.  Manufacturing methods include conventional and laser guided hand layup, autoclave, oven and press curing, RTM light molding, CNC machining, finishing, painting and assembly.  Support functions include product design, analysis and testing, plus tooling design and fabrication.

Products manufactured by Vermont Composites include: components for the aerospace and aircraft industries such as lightweight fairings, radomes, electronic enclosures and other composite structures used in aircraft, launch vehicles, and spacecraft.  Vermont Composites also provides the medical diagnostic imaging market with radiolucent medical imaging tables and other composite structures used in diagnostic imaging, surgical, and therapeutic applications. Composite imaging parts are also used for security screening system applications.  In addition, Vermont Composites provides a wide range of composite components for the industrial market.
