BENNINGTON, VT November 04, 2004 - Vermont Composites completed the purchase of an additional manufacturing facility in Bennington, Vermont. The building, located on Kocher Drive, will become the company’s new headquarters and will provide manufacturing capabilities, which supplement the current facility. The 82,000 square foot facility, formerly occupied by Bijur, has offices and manufacturing space that well suits the company’s needs. The building site is approximately 12 acres.
Dan Maneely, President of Vermont Composites said, “We are extremely pleased to be able to have such an ideal location. We believe that owning the building will put us in an ideal position to grow Vermont Composite substantially over the next few years.”
Vermont Composites will also continue to manufacture in its existing facility located at 139 Shields Drive in Bennington. The Shields Drive facility has 45,000 square feet and is located approximately 1/4 mile away from the new facility. Moving of equipment and offices to the new facility will take place gradually over the next few months.
Vermont Composites, Inc. designs, develops and fabricates advanced composite structures for commercial and aerospace markets. The company is ISO 9001-2000 certified and services a broad range of customers. Manufacturing processes include lay up, autoclave and press cure, CNC routing and machining, finishing, and assembly. Support functions include design, analysis, tooling design, testing and all administrative functions
Products include: medical x-ray tables and other composite structures used in diagnostic imaging, products for the aerospace and aircraft industries including fairings, radomes, electronic enclosures, and other composite structures used in aircraft, launch vehicles, and spacecraft.
