Vermont Composites Of Bennington Vermont to Sell Its Automotive Composite Parts Business

In a joint statement, Patrick Wheeler, CEO for Vermont Composites, and Dani Ziv, CEO for Plasan, said that both companies are very pleased with this business transaction.

This Bennington automotive composite business is currently the leading manufacturer of carbon fiber component parts for the automotive market, worldwide. The 67 employees previously employed by Vermont Composites will stay with Plasan’s business in Bennington.

The automotive composite business fits well with Plasan’s armor business and will allow the company to expand its armor business here in the States. Vermont Composites can now focus on the growth of its core Aerospace and Medical Systems business that has doubled in size since 2000 with its 165 employees. Each business has its own location in Bennington. Both companies are forecasting strong growth in sales and employment going forward.

Vermont Composites designs, engineers, and fabricates advanced carbon fiber composite structures for the aerospace and medical imaging markets.

Plasan Sasa specializes in the development and manufacture of a vast range of protective armored systems for military and commercial clients worldwide.  Their protective armor systems are currently in use by our U.S. Troops in Iraq.

Dani Ziv, CEO of Plasan, is quoted saying, “The Vermont facility we acquired will provide Plasan with armor production capabilities in the USA. All the while, we are also enthusiastic about the prospects of the automotive parts business and feel it will grow significantly in the future.”
